Samsung has, in spite of the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, profits and turnover for the fifth-quarter decline in a row. The price of the new flagship will therefore be adjusted.
That makes the South Korean company announced at the presentation of the second quarter.
Samsung recorded sales of 48.54 trillion Korean won in the second quarter of 2015 (EUR 38 billion), 7.4 percent less than a year ago. Earnings decreased in the same period gained 8.7 percent to 5.75 billion (4.5 billion euros).
Smartphone Market
It is the fifth consecutive quarter that both sales and profits decline. Again, this is mainly due to the disappointing performance in the smartphone market.
The mobile division saw shrinking sales in the second quarter by 8.6 percent to 26.06 trillion won (20.4 billion euro) while profits were strong decline by 37.3 per cent and amounts to 2.76 trillion won ( 2.16 billion).
