Whatsapp may soon introduce a video chat function and a new design.

Reported at least the German Macerkopf. The video call feature is introduced as the site within a few weeks.

When a video call starts the image of the caller on the entire screen will be displayed, as for example Skype or FaceTime. Within a smaller, movable box, the image of the user himself is displayed. It can be switched between the camera on the front and back.
Whatsapp The developers would also work on a new design. The color green would be more important and would be experimented with tabs, as known from browsers. So there could be more quickly switch between calls.
