FC Barcelona, Bartomeu and Rosell acquitted in case Neymar
FC Barcelona will not be prosecuted for alleged tax fraud surrounding the transfer of Neymar.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu and his predecessor, Sandro Rosell, who were suspected of tax evasion, had successfully appealed to a Spanish court.Thereby having both drivers and the Catalan club no longer fear persecution, FC Barcelona announced. would there be fraud amounting to 13 million euro in taxes around the transfer of Neymar from Santos in 2013.
The prosecutor had called for a hefty fine for the club and imprisonment for Bartomeu and Rosell, but should now be able to submit new evidence to reopen the case.
